In January 2023, Jon and Ruth Bergen moved to Seeley Lake from Brechin, Scotland where Jon was
pastor of the Brechin Baptist Fellowship for almost 21 years. The Bergens are enjoying both the beauty of the Seeley Lake area and the heart of the people.
Jon grew up in a Baptist minister’s home and came to know Christ as His personal Savior during his
teen years. Jon and Ruth married in 1983 and moved to Texas. They ran a successful air conditioning
and heating business before God called him into ministry. Once Jon surrendered to ministry he went
back to college and graduated from Arlington Baptist Bible College in December 1998. In October
1999 Jon was ordained to the gospel ministry at Bethel Baptist Church in Waxahachie Texas.
The Bergen’s have five adult children and three grandchildren.
