1 Peter 1:13-19 was the text for the day. Focus on verse 17 and what it means to fear God. Are you in terror of God or do you take Him for granted?

Hebrews 13:10-16 speaks about the alter and sacrifice outside the camp. Calvery was outside Jerusalem and that is where the atonement offering was made in full. We are to observe and partake in that journey. If we find our lives in sync with this it should make a difference in our actions.

Our study of 1 Peter continues with a look at holy living. God’s standard for His children is to be holy because He is holy. We have to ask ourselves if that is how we do it? Do we even aspire to be holy? We should.
1 Peter 1:13-16 is our primary text as we consider our lives.

This one verse is so rich in meaning and content that it might need to be revisited. The concept of false teachers and especially the effects of false doctrine are real for us day to day in our current world. The affects of it all are numerous but we can stand strong in truth. Join in the teaching to see how your life can remain strong.

What is it you are not content about? How does that cause you to not enjoy the forever the same God in your day-to-day living? Our manner of living should reflect our faith by what we think and how we act.

1 Peter 1:10-25 is the overall text for today but we drill down into verses 10-12 as the focus. There were prophets of old that anticipated the coming Christ/Messiah but their revelation was actually for the early church believers and now for us to see Christ throughout history past, into the present and we believe into the future.
Suffering brings joy as we learned in the lesson on 08 October, now we move to seeing it developing holiness in our lives.

Hebrews 13 picks up where chapter 12 finishes and goes on to complete the thoughts. What does ‘brotherly love’ look like in our world today, who are strangers vs brothers? What about prisoners, can we relate?

1 Peter 1:3-9 gives us a journey from lostness to “salvation of your souls.” The hard part for us is the suffering that comes along the way. But the suffering is to make our faith genuine and valuable and to teach us how to be joyful in a hard place.
